Spectators: 7495 (Terracing: 5622, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) Curcio Amer started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 2nd match minute, PERSPOLIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baltazar Vives to maneuver through the defense. Virgilio Marcilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cezar Agusoaei in the 6th minute of the match. Baltazar Vives recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 11th minute, Baltazar Vives hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Virgilio Marcilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cezar Agusoaei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Cezar Agusoaei's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Virgilio Marcilla was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Jaizki Lacorte kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute of the match Eric Udup shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Virgilio Marcilla showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Virgilio Marcilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Strugure in the 28th minute of play. Baltazar Vives recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tiberiu Mischie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Vives in the 33rd minute of the match. Cezar Agusoaei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Virgilio Marcilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cezar Agusoaei scored 0-2 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgilio Marcilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cezar Agusoaei to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Xuaco Otero managed to get in a good position for a shot. PERSPOLIS's supporters rose to their feet, but Xuaco Otero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiberiu Mischie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When FC Politehnica Timisoara's Cezar Agusoaei in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PERSPOLIS's goalie prevented a goal. Virgilio Marcilla made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Cezar Agusoaei sent off a good shot on target. In the 58th minute FC Politehnica Timisoara were awarded a corner. Eric Udup went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Eric Udup got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Virgilio Marcilla quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Virgilio Marcilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cezar Agusoaei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 62 played minutes PERSPOLIS got a freekick which was hit by Donatello Incera. In the 67th minute, Donatello Incera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 69 played minutes FC Politehnica Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Aristide Hălmăgeanu. Xuaco Otero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiberiu Mischie having to interfere. A collision led to FC Politehnica Timisoara getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Aristide Hălmăgeanu hit a great ball. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Virgilio Marcilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to PERSPOLIS getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Arash Lara hit a great ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Xuaco Otero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PERSPOLIS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xuaco Otero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cezar Agusoaei's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Virgilio Marcilla skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. FC Politehnica Timisoara's Tiberiu Mischie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donatello Incera in the 88th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Politehnica Timisoara walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
