Salvador Maraman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 3rd minute of the match Pär Fridlund shot from a long distance. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Samuel Phelipe managed to get in a good position for a shot. ACF Fiorentina's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel Phelipe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonny Almqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonny Almqvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samuel Phelipe's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, ACF Fiorentina's Samuel Phelipe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonny Almqvist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Samuel Phelipe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonny Almqvist was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. Jonny Almqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ambrosio Bernat, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuel Phelipe in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonny Almqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Samuel Phelipe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emanuel Hotz took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonny Almqvist. Jonny Almqvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. ACF Fiorentina's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
