Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jack Bergman to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sermet Akçakoca in the 90th minute of play forced Gnesta Oilers's goalkeeper Gösta Bergqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
