Johan Cruijff's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Christer Waaler firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 5th minute Johan Cruijff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christer Waaler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Åsnes's Aleksander Ånestad got a free kick in the 7th minute. Åsnes were furious when Jon Hesjedal was red carded, 8 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Christer Waaler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiaguinho de Carvalho in the 10th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Olympique Deleon's goal looked a bit too open when Kristian Sandersen came free, but Jeremias Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christer Waaler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eurico Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. When Martin Rustad fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Åsnes's protests and gave Martin Rustad a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th minute, Martin Rustad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristian Sandersen in the 24th minute of play forced Olympique Deleon's goalkeeper Jeremias Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 played minutes Åsnes got a freekick which was hit by Kristian Sandersen. Christer Waaler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Luís Melo in the 26th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Olympique Deleon's zone, Aleksander Ånestad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremias Correia came out of the goal and Aleksander Ånestad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 31 played minutes Olympique Deleon got a freekick which was hit by Johan Cruijff. After a rather tough play, Olympique Deleon's Tiaguinho de Carvalho got a free kick in the 34th minute. After a rather tough play, Åsnes's Tolunay Aydoğan got a free kick in the 35th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Åsnes's goal looked a bit too open when Eurico Aguiar came free, but Christer Waaler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Kristian Sandersen came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Åsnes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristian Sandersen couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute, Eurico Aguiar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Christer Waaler. The goal made the score 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Luís Melo got free with Christer Waaler in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 46 minutes into the match, Kristian Sandersen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jeremias Correia. Olympique Deleon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kristian Sandersen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Christer Waaler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Aguiar in the 53rd minute of play. A collision led to Åsnes getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Rune Gjessing hit a great ball. After 62 played minutes, Olympique Deleon's Tiaguinho de Carvalho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Christer Waaler came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Olympique Deleon reached it. Åsnes's Christer Waaler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johan Cruijff in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Johan Cruijff made a precise shot to the right of Christer Waaler. Åsnes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. 70 minutes into the match, Åsnes's goal looked a bit too open when Eurico Aguiar came free, but Christer Waaler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 72 minutes into the game, Tobias Haugvaldstad recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jeremias Correia. Tobias Haugvaldstad showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-3. 76 minutes into the match, Åsnes's goal looked a bit too open when Eurico Aguiar came free, but Christer Waaler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Olympique Deleon booed when Åsnes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Rustad didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute of the match Tiaguinho de Carvalho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christer Waaler skillfully saved the ball. In the 89th minute of the match Olympique Deleon got a corner. Åsnes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tiaguinho de Carvalho ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Tiaguinho de Carvalho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Christer Waaler quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tobias Haugvaldstad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Kristian Sandersen came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Åsnes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristian Sandersen couldn't finish the play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
