But to his dismay, Abelardo Fantini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Elano Ceresso hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Ciriaco Cresencio charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciriaco Cresencio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 18 played minutes Golden Generation got a freekick which was hit by Ciriaco Cresencio. Gilberto Gamus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arlindo Leão in the 20th minute of the match. Gilberto Gamus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arlindo Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Golden Generation were furious when Baltasar Pes was red carded, 23 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The Golden Generation fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilberto Gamus should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ciriaco Cresencio to strike the kick off in the second half. If Abelardo Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto Gamus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Eduardo Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evaristo Bittor hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Golden Generation's Gilberto Gamus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arlindo Leão in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Celso Gipuzkoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Carlos Eduardo Goiano in the 73rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Golden Generation's Baldomero Lixandro. In the 87th minute, Arlindo Leão fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gilberto Gamus, passed just outside the right post. Arlindo Leão scored 0-6 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilberto Gamus, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
