The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Saturnino Romo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arlindo Luz in the 3rd minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 9 minutes, Saturnino Romo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 10th minute Arlindo Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saturnino Romo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Saturnino Romo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arlindo Luz in the 12th minute of the match. If Zé Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Grosso United booed when Grêmio Prudente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagoberto da Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 18 played minutes, Grosso United's Rigoberto Boniel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Vítor Ramos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Grosso United reached it. Saturnino Romo stood somewhat misplaced when Celsinho Neiva came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 20 minute. The supporters of Grêmio Prudente booed when Grosso United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Elija didn't get a good kick on the ball. Godofredo Manny hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Saturnino Romo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Peres in the 29th minute of the match. Celsinho Neiva who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Saturnino Romo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Grêmio Prudente's Celsinho Neiva was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 32nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Zé Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Grosso United's Saturnino Romo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Peres in the 42nd minute of play. A collision led to Grosso United getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Bai Chen Gang hit a great ball. Saturnino Romo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Josué Batista. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Ramos got free with Saturnino Romo in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Celsinho Neiva was the one to do the kick off. Saturnino Romo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arlindo Luz in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saturnino Romo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Saturnino Romo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Peres in the 54th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Ramos in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saturnino Romo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Celsinho Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carolo Urbasa kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute Celsinho Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saturnino Romo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Grosso United's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Peres came free, but Saturnino Romo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adrian Curcio kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Saturnino Romo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arlindo Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Peres struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Saturnino Romo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio Prudente. Saturnino Romo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arlindo Luz went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score.
