The supporters of Los Trip booed when Grosso United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Curcio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Los Trip's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Curcio came free, but Aquiles Lluques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Zeledon Veremundo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of Los Trip booed when Grosso United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horacio Procopio didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Carlos Urre sped through Grosso United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Saturnino Romo. After a rather tough play, Los Trip's Carlos Urre got a free kick in the 24th minute. Saturnino Romo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Urre, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. A collision led to Grosso United getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Godofredo Manny hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the game, Los Trip's Fulgencio Arce nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Saturnino Romo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Fulgencio Arce's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Saturnino Romo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Los Trip's Sixto Frichoso seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Sixto Frichoso the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Los Trip protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sixto Frichoso had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Los Trip:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Grosso United:s goal. The referee gave Grosso United a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rigoberto Boniel, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Los Trip's Aquiles Lluques. 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 51st match minute, Grosso United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Boniel to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Grosso United's zone, Fulgencio Arce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saturnino Romo came out of the goal and Fulgencio Arce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aquiles Lluques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godofredo Manny, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Fulgencio Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zeledon Veremundo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saturnino Romo having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Fulgencio Arce left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Trip fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Saturnino Romo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fulgencio Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Los Trip's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
