The supporters of Grêmio Prudente booed when Garanhão do SUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Rios didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Heitor Peseiro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 5th minute, Grêmio Prudente's Zé Peres dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Elias Garikoitz scored 1-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Vítor Ramos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 17 played minutes Grêmio Prudente got a freekick which was hit by Guto Lucas. A collision led to Grêmio Prudente getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Josué Batista hit a great ball. José Vítor Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Garikoitz in the 21st minute of play. José Vítor Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tarcísio Palha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the match, Garanhão do SUL's goal looked a bit too open when Arlindo Luz came free, but Heitor Peseiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Grêmio Prudente's Arlindo Luz got a free kick in the 32nd minute. José Vítor Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dimas Álvares in the 33rd minute of play. After 41 played minutes Grêmio Prudente got a freekick which was hit by Josué Batista. In the 42ndth minute of the game Elias Garikoitz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grêmio Prudente's José Vítor Ramos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Grêmio Prudente's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Garikoitz came free, but José Vítor Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Vítor Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Necaettin Akdemirci in the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute Elias Garikoitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Vítor Ramos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celsinho Neiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Garanhão do SUL's José Vítor Ramos threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Elias Garikoitz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Celsinho Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celsinho Neiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Heitor Peseiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arlindo Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute, Julião Valverde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arlindo Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heitor Peseiro having to interfere. A collision led to Garanhão do SUL getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Diogo Rios hit a great ball. The Garanhão do SUL players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
