Robin Wörns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramirez Indo, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uwe Kuinke in the 40th minute of play forced Halcon Sport 69's goalkeeper Tabby Leceta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeremy Montero struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Robin Wörns didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Halcon Sport 69. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maureo Magdalena to strike the kick off in the second half. Maureo Magdalena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 59 minutes into the match, Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Maureo Magdalena came free, but Robin Wörns reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Uwe Kuinke's late challenge caught a Halcon Sport 69's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The Poli Timisoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robin Wörns should have stopped the shot. The tension between the Halcon Sport 69 and the Poli Timisoara players grew even worse after the yellow card.
