Spectators: 7553 (Terracing: 5666, Seating: 1737, VIP seats: 150) Richard Ferreira made the kick off and thus started the match. Gil de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamílton Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. Hamílton Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil de Medeiros having to interfere. Gil de Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when João Travassos sent off a good shot on target. Pedro Paulo França didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Richard Ferreira went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 22nd minute, Marcelinho de Andrade left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nautilus fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After a rather tough play, Nautilus's Laerte Tasso got a free kick in the 27th minute. Hamílton Paiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Nautilus booed when Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emílio Bueno didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Travassos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Gil de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s Hamílton Paiva dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Travassos made a kick off. Gil de Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Travassos in the 53rd minute of the match. After 55 played minutes Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Bueno. Nautilus's Gil de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamílton Paiva in the 56th minute of play. Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Nautilus's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Albertinho de Andrade took the corner. Albertinho de Andrade made a great header on Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s corner, it was just that Nautilus's Gil de Medeiros managed to reach the ball for a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Dudu Neiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nautilus's supporters rose to their feet, but Dudu Neiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Paulo França breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Travassos in the 64th minute of play forced Nautilus's goalkeeper Gil de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 4-2 when João Travassos sped through Nautilus's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gil de Medeiros. João Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil de Medeiros having to interfere. In the 75th match minute, Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hamílton Paiva to maneuver through the defense. João Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil de Medeiros having to interfere. If João Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Travassos took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gil de Medeiros. Gil de Medeiros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. 91 minutes into the game, Hamílton Paiva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-2. Gil de Medeiros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When João Travassos came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Travassos couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. were the better team. Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
