After 6 played minutes Engenheiros da Vila got a freekick which was hit by Evaristo Sá. Ademir Amorim made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Michael Ballack sent off a good shot on target. Marcel Eichhorn hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Engenheiros da Vila's Ademir Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Engenheiros da Vila from getting a goal against them. When Bruno Wiederhold fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored STARGARD FC's protests and gave Bruno Wiederhold a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to STARGARD FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Bruno Wiederhold hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, Osvaldinho Arruda made a precise shot to the right of Lance Haßke. STARGARD FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The supporters of Engenheiros da Vila booed when STARGARD FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julius Kaiser didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Engenheiros da Vila's Osvaldinho Arruda broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Lance Haßke came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Engenheiros da Vila's Osvaldinho Arruda. But to his dismay, Osvaldinho Arruda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldinho Arruda in the 28th minute of play forced STARGARD FC's goalkeeper Lance Haßke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Osvaldinho Arruda struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Lance Haßke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Engenheiros da Vila. After some careless play in the STARGARD FC defense, Osvaldinho Arruda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lance Haßke. The STARGARD FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lance Haßke should have stopped the shot. Bruno Wiederhold, 44 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 47th minute, Michael Ballack reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ademir Amorim. The goal made the score 1-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

Michael Ballack hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in STARGARD FC's zone, Osvaldinho Arruda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lance Haßke came out of the goal and Osvaldinho Arruda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ademir Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roque Reuter, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After having played for 63 minutes, Carlos Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Engenheiros da Vila's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Sá was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lance Haßke made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osvaldinho Arruda in the 65th minute. Lance Haßke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldinho Arruda in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Sá in the 68th minute of play forced STARGARD FC's goalkeeper Lance Haßke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 73 minutes, Osvaldinho Arruda made it 1-5 with a short kick to the right side. STARGARD FC's Lance Haßke tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Carlos Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance Haßke having to interfere. In the 80th match minute, STARGARD FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Ballack to maneuver through the defense. Lance Haßke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osvaldinho Arruda's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Lance Haßke was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Osvaldinho Arruda showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-6 in the 85 minute of play. Engenheiros da Vila's Ademir Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ole Ruge in the 93rd minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, STARGARD FC's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldinho Arruda came free, but Lance Haßke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
