The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes Gaviotas FC got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Gimenez. Gavino Luke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaarle Väätäinen in the 7th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaarle Väätäinen in the 11th minute of play forced Gaviotas FC's goalkeeper Gavino Luke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ildefonso Ortle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Gaviotas FC's Gavino Luke got control of the ball when Tauno Kivimäki tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Savon Palloseura's Hafliði Borgþórsson got a free kick in the 26th minute. Ildefonso Ortle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niilo Vähäsavo having to interfere. Kaarle Väätäinen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Gavino Luke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th of the match, Kaarle Väätäinen tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Gavino Luke got in the way and made a wonderful save. Ildefonso Ortle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baldomiro Oliverios to make the kick off. After 58 minutes, Ildefonso Ortle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gaviotas FC and the Savon Palloseura players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th match minute, Gaviotas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ildefonso Ortle to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Savon Palloseura booed when Gaviotas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ildefonso Ortle didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Tauno Kivimäki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Savon Palloseura's supporters rose to their feet, but Tauno Kivimäki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gavino Luke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gavino Luke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaarle Väätäinen, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After 68 played minutes Gaviotas FC got a freekick which was hit by Esteve Naelio. 70 minutes into the game, Hafliði Borgþórsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Savon Palloseura's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gaviotas FC the free kick. A collision led to Savon Palloseura getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Hafliði Borgþórsson hit a great ball. Gavino Luke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaarle Väätäinen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Kaarle Väätäinen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Savon Palloseura's supporters rose to their feet, but Kaarle Väätäinen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gavino Luke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Baldomiro Oliverios kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Savon Palloseura's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
