An unexpectedly hard shot by Nando de Alcântara in the 24th minute of play forced Savon Palloseura's goalkeeper Niilo Vähäsavo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Folke Österlund made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Heikki Niinimaa sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Savon Palloseura's zone, Leonel Varela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Folke Österlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaarle Väätäinen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Folke Österlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaarle Väätäinen in the 36th minute of play. Jan Kuokkanen hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Niilo Vähäsavo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Varela in the 41st minute of the match. The supporters of Catugi FC booed when Savon Palloseura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heikki Niinimaa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee ignored Savon Palloseura's protests and gave Kosti Kukkonen a yellow card for diving instead.
