Rui Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Toledo in the 4th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Rui Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grêmio FBPA's Rui Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Velasco in the 6th minute of play. After 9 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Dário Paraibano. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alex Toledo in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rui Varela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Celso Mendes hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Kiko Antunes, 14 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Rui Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Rui Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Toledo in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute Leopoldo Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Dário Paraibano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grêmio FBPA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Samurai Champions FC the free kick. In the 21st match minute, Grêmio FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dário Paraibano to maneuver through the defense. Grêmio FBPA's Rui Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renan Sena in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Alex Toledo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Samurai Champions FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Alex Toledo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rui Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renan Sena in the 29th minute of the match. Alex Toledo scored 0-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rui Varela, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Renan Sena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rui Varela. Grêmio FBPA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Renan Sena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alex Toledo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Celso Mendes fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grêmio FBPA's protests and gave Celso Mendes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th minute, Mauro Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rui Varela didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Samurai Champions FC's Renan Sena shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-6 in the ordered_time% minute. Renan Sena received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rui Varela came out and tried to block the shot, but Renan Sena slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 73rd minute. Rui Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Renan Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Samurai Champions FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Renan Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 84th minute, Filipe Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute, Cauã Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute, Enrique Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rui Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Toledo in the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Samurai Champions FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Grêmio FBPA.
