Spectators: 7455 (Terracing: 5592, Seating: 1714, VIP seats: 149) Celso Mendes started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Omar Librado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Equipo's Higinio Beltza in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grêmio FBPA's goalie prevented a goal. 7 minutes into the match, Omar Librado notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Grêmio FBPA's Rui Varela. Rui Varela was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Omar Librado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the match, Celso Mendes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Orlando Leoiar. Equipo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celso Mendes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When Fulgencio Matxin came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Equipo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fulgencio Matxin couldn't finish the play. Celso Mendes hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Librado came free, but Rui Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Higinio Beltza took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rui Varela. Rui Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Grêmio FBPA's Rui Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Higinio Beltza in the 29th minute of play. After 30 minutes, Osvaldo Santana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grêmio FBPA and the Equipo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Santana. The supporters of Equipo booed when Grêmio FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Higinio Beltza charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Higinio Beltza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Equipo's Higinio Beltza got a free kick in the 40th minute. Rui Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Higinio Beltza in the 44th minute of the match. In the 48th match minute, Grêmio FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Santana to maneuver through the defense. In the 52nd minute Omar Librado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Equipo were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Omar Librado to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Grêmio FBPA getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Osvaldo Santana hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Omar Librado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Equipo's supporters rose to their feet, but Omar Librado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Grêmio FBPA's Rui Varela got control of the ball when Higinio Beltza tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 67 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Santana. Higinio Beltza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Rui Varela made a huge save. After 72 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Wilian Alves. When Omar Librado in the 77th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Rui Varela kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-3 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. The crowd rose to their feet as Equipo's Higinio Beltza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rui Varela. That made the score 1-4 after 81 minutes of play. Omar Librado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Varela having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Librado in the 87th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Rui Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rui Varela was a little too slow when Omar Librado got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 1-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Librado in the 93rd minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Rui Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grêmio FBPA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Omar Librado scored to the left of an out of position Rui Varela, making the score, 1-6. The Grêmio FBPA fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Equipo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
