Mauro Vermudo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 18 minutes into the match, ㄩ几ᗪ乇尺Ꮆ尺ㄖㄩ几ᗪ's goalkeeper Florencio Salomone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kevin Musu. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Osvaldo Bidun sped through Meerkats FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jean Paul Taliana. With a little luck, ㄩ几ᗪ乇尺Ꮆ尺ㄖㄩ几ᗪ's Florencio Salomone got control of the ball when Carl Chircop tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Nick Farrugia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meerkats FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nick Farrugia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florencio Salomone breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonard Calleja in the 31st minute of play forced ㄩ几ᗪ乇尺Ꮆ尺ㄖㄩ几ᗪ's goalkeeper Florencio Salomone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the game, Cayetano Romero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Jean Paul Taliana was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kevin Musu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Florencio Salomone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gonzalo Gitano's late challenge caught a Meerkats FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gonzalo Gitano helped the player get up and apologised. Gonzalo Gitano kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After 39 played minutes, Meerkats FC's Anton De Battista shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Florencio Salomone came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Meerkats FC reached it. Florencio Salomone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonard Calleja in the 42nd minute of the match. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kevin Musu made a kick off. A hard shot 51 in the game by Osvaldo Bidun from a close distance when the talented Jean Paul Taliana managed to make a qualified save. Meerkats FC's players were relieved. Florencio Salomone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Calleja in the 53rd minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Bidun dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jean Paul Taliana, 1-4. In the 62nd minute Osvaldo Bidun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Paul Taliana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Osvaldo Bidun came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the ㄩ几ᗪ乇尺Ꮆ尺ㄖㄩ几ᗪ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Bidun couldn't finish the play. In the 71st minute Kevin Musu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florencio Salomone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute, Kevin Musu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Meerkats FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-4. After 81 played minutes ㄩ几ᗪ乇尺Ꮆ尺ㄖㄩ几ᗪ got a freekick which was hit by Cayetano Romero. Eleuterio Fortun's late challenge caught a Meerkats FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eleuterio Fortun helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to ㄩ几ᗪ乇尺Ꮆ尺ㄖㄩ几ᗪ getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Eleuterio Fortun hit a great ball. Florencio Salomone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonard Calleja, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, ㄩ几ᗪ乇尺Ꮆ尺ㄖㄩ几ᗪ's goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Calleja came free, but Florencio Salomone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carl Chircop kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. With 95 minutes on the clock, Stephen Bonnici commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Meerkats FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! Eleuterio Fortun shot the penalty kick right outside the post.
