OLYMPIACOS FC's Ovidio Oto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viktor Kamenec in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of OLYMPIACOS FC booed when FC DNV Bratiskava was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viktor Kamenec didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to FC DNV Bratiskava getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Martin Timko hit a great ball. FC DNV Bratiskava's Tomáš Zednikovič played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Etxahun in the 24th minute of play. The referee ignored FC DNV Bratiskava's protests and gave Viktor Kamenec a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Santos Lazcano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomáš Zednikovič was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. In the 102nd minute of the match Cirilo Chayo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomáš Zednikovič showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The OLYMPIACOS FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing OLYMPIACOS FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
