The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 minutes of play, istanbulls's Patric Bierhoff made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jens Duset was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dag Skoog hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, Yavuz Selim Yücelay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 13th minute Fatih Maradona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens Duset saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of istanbulls booed when Arye Suryoye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melker Björklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, istanbulls's Yavuz Selim Yücelay got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Charles Hamberg fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 19 minutes into the match, Marc Vennerkvist notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of istanbulls's Hatemi Cire. Hatemi Cire was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fatih Maradona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens Duset having to interfere. Fatih Maradona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doğuş Özkaya's late challenge caught a Arye Suryoye's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doğuş Özkaya helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 played minutes istanbulls got a freekick which was hit by Doğuş Özkaya. In the 39th minute, istanbulls's Yavuz Selim Yücelay seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Yavuz Selim Yücelay the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of istanbulls protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Yavuz Selim Yücelay had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 38th minute, one of istanbulls:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for istanbulls. When the match had been going on for 40 minutes, Arye Suryoye's Marc Vennerkvist got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Hatemi Cire. Hatemi Cire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charles Hamberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Hatemi Cire was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Charles Hamberg showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 43 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marc Vennerkvist to make the kick off. After 57th play minutes Anton Bållström shot 4-1, a short shot which went by Hatemi Cire and just under the crossbar into goal. Melker Björklund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hatemi Cire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anton Bållström in the 63rd minute of play. Hatemi Cire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charles Hamberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Marc Vennerkvist took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hatemi Cire. Hatemi Cire dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Marc Vennerkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arye Suryoye's supporters rose to their feet, but Marc Vennerkvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hatemi Cire breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hatemi Cire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marc Vennerkvist in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Haydar Özdinç hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Charles Hamberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Hatemi Cire tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 94 minutes of play, Arye Suryoye's Melker Björklund made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hatemi Cire was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the istanbulls players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Arye Suryoye.
