An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Txeru in the 39th minute of play forced istanbulls's goalkeeper Hatemi Cire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hatemi Cire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomiro Sabino in the 41st minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivan Txeru to make the kick off. In the 92nd match minute, Chelsea Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquilino Basualdo to maneuver through the defense. istanbulls's Hatemi Cire proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save istanbulls from getting a goal against them. Chelsea Football Club were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over istanbulls's much stronger midfield.
