But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Calle Hellström couldn't finish the play. Boca Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chelsea Football Club the free kick. After 16 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Calle Hellström. In the 17th minute, Virgilio Calvet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benigno Sabina was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ismael Tiniebra during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 30 played minutes, Boca Juniors's Samuel Dagora shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emanuel Carletti came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Boca Juniors reached it. Emanuel Carletti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piotrek Czerniak in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calle Hellström in the 38th minute of play forced Chelsea Football Club's goalkeeper Emanuel Carletti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Piotrek Czerniak stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
