The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Constantino Clementi kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonçalo Catarinense in the 6th minute of play forced Durazno FC's goalkeeper Melchor Acuña to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the game, Joinville Esporte Clube's Deivid Vaz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Melchor Acuña made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 11 played minutes Durazno FC got a freekick which was hit by Raimundo Ofelio. Durazno FC's Melchor Acuña played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Joinvilense in the 15th minute of play. Zé Joinvilense struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Melchor Acuña didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Joinville Esporte Clube. After some careless play in the Durazno FC defense, Deivid Vaz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Melchor Acuña. The Durazno FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Melchor Acuña should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Joinvilense in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Melchor Acuña saved Durazno FC from getting behind. When Joinville Esporte Clube's Zé Joinvilense in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Durazno FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 32ndth minute of the game Zé Joinvilense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Durazno FC's Melchor Acuña was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Melchor Acuña took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Joinvilense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Gotzon was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 35th minute. Durazno FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. With a little luck, Joinville Esporte Clube's Eriberto Leão got control of the ball when Ariel Totakoxe tried to sneak it across the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Durazno FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Joinvilense came free, but Melchor Acuña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Melchor Acuña didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zé Joinvilense went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Joinvilense in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Melchor Acuña saved Durazno FC from getting behind. In the 45th minute, Ariel Totakoxe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Zé Joinvilense made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Deivid Vaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Joinville Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Deivid Vaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melchor Acuña breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute Deivid Vaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melchor Acuña saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 64 played minutes Durazno FC got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Prejun. Melchor Acuña was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Zé Joinvilense showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 68 minute of play. 77 minutes into the game, Erubiel Malvin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Durazno FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joinville Esporte Clube the free kick. After a rather tough play, Durazno FC's Erubiel Malvin got a free kick in the 78th minute. Zé Joinvilense who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Melchor Acuña when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Melchor Acuña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Joinvilense in the 83rd minute of the match. 84 minutes into the game, Zé Joinvilense recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Melchor Acuña.
