But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geordy Maerschalcx couldn't finish the play. 30 minutes into the match, Twierdza Osowiec's goalkeeper Waut Vanden Berghe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aldo Qwinton. The audience was convinced that Aldo Qwinton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waut Vanden Berghe was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Geordy Maerschalcx's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudio Senio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geordy Maerschalcx to make the kick off. After 50 played minutes Villa Mitre City got a freekick which was hit by Conrado Raymond. In the 51st minute Geordy Maerschalcx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Senio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franz Corral charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Franz Corral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 55 played minutes Villa Mitre City got a freekick which was hit by Franz Corral. Geordy Maerschalcx blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claudio Senio having to make a save. Waut Vanden Berghe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matias Tulio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Villa Mitre City's Aldo Qwinton got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Twierdza Osowiec getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Tomm Uyttebroeck hit a great ball. In the 77th minute Aldo Qwinton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waut Vanden Berghe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waut Vanden Berghe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aldo Qwinton in the 80th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmacio Endura in the 82nd minute of play forced Twierdza Osowiec's goalkeeper Waut Vanden Berghe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
