Fumanchu Jára recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's zone, Fumanchu Jára stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramon Calvino came out of the goal and Fumanchu Jára tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of CRONOPIOS Y FAMAS booed when NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rene Bernabel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antonio Mundo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gianluigi Martinez having to make a save. 28 minutes into the game, Tobias Ladio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Ramon Calvino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Ramon Calvino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobias Ladio in the 34th minute of play. Ramon Calvino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guaberto Harriet went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Erasmo Millrick's late challenge caught a CRONOPIOS Y FAMAS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erasmo Millrick helped the player get up and apologised. CRONOPIOS Y FAMAS made a substitution. Enrique Mikelar replaced Remigio Bemabe. In the 40th match minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Millrick to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, Pedro Ioritz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ramon Calvino was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. 84 minutes into the match, CRONOPIOS Y FAMAS's goal looked a bit too open when Apolo Richie came free, but Gianluigi Martinez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
