Beniamin Grondzki made in the 15th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Tymoteusz Filipkowski however managed to control. 16 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Korneliusz Tychy came free, but Ramon Calvino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Erasmo Millrick recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zygmunt Trzaskoma. Ramon Calvino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Przemyslaw Buda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Korneliusz Tychy might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ramon Calvino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Korneliusz Tychy ran back to his position shaking his head.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Korneliusz Tychy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
