If Jairo Formerio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 24 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Marin came free, but Ramon Calvino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Cristobal Berto came free, but Ramon Calvino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eloy Flores was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Riquelme Fútbol Club's Melchor Erramun got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ramon Calvino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristobal Berto, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the match, Riquelme Fútbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Apolo Richie came free, but Eloy Flores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rogelio Hegoi kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. A collision led to NEWELL´S OLD BOYS getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Apolo Richie hit a great ball. Antonio Mundo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eloy Flores read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, Apolo Richie recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eloy Flores. Apolo Richie showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. In the 93rd minute, Lorenzo Dalmai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apolo Richie in the 96th minute of play forced Riquelme Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Eloy Flores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle went the supporters of NEWELL´S OLD BOYS were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Riquelme Fútbol Club side.
