Ferdinand Horhoianu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Murilo Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebiu Stancu, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 22 played minutes Curiphila Eagles got a freekick which was hit by Cacá de Almeida. Pompiliu Honciu scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Murilo Paiva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paul Drăgan in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Murilo Paiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half Purcaresti CSS were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Purcaresti CSS's Eusebiu Stancu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Murilo Paiva. That made the score 0-3 after 51 minutes of play. 58 minutes into the match, Curiphila Eagles's goalkeeper Murilo Paiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paul Drăgan. With a little luck, Curiphila Eagles's Murilo Paiva got control of the ball when Paul Drăgan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nelsinho Bastos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eugen Tiberiu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Murilo Paiva came out and tried to block the shot, but Eugen Tiberiu slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 65th minute. Eusebiu Stancu hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Naldo Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
