The referee ignored Purcaresti CSS's protests and gave Eusebiu Stancu a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bengt Abrahamsson in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ferdinand Horhoianu saved Purcaresti CSS from getting behind. Oliver Giliusson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinand Horhoianu having to interfere. In the 45th minute Oliver Giliusson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinand Horhoianu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bengt Abrahamsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bengt Abrahamsson in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ferdinand Horhoianu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bengt Abrahamsson got free with Ferdinand Horhoianu in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Purcaresti CSS getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Eusebiu Stancu hit a great ball. Bengt Abrahamsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Ferdinand Horhoianu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sledgehammer KO's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
