The tension between the Matungo Gaúcho and the Portuguesa players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gonçalo de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Dário da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Pedro Augusto de Barros made a precise shot to the right of Dário da Cunha. Matungo Gaúcho's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 11-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Portuguesa fully deserved thier win.
