The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dário da Cunha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Celestino Urbez in the 5th minute. In the 6th match minute, Matungo Gaúcho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadeu Cardoso to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Matungo Gaúcho's Dário da Cunha got control of the ball when Celestino Urbez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12th minute, SuperChango's Celestino Urbez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dário da Cunha. Dário da Cunha yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Thanks to some nice moves Celestino Urbez could shoot a difficult shot in the 19th minute, which Dário da Cunha however easily saved by the left post. In the 22nd minute Benedito Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but German Indar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celestino Urbez's late challenge caught a Matungo Gaúcho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celestino Urbez helped the player get up and apologised. After 27 played minutes SuperChango got a freekick which was hit by Celestino Urbez. In the 29th minute, Celestino Urbez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SuperChango fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 38th match minute, Matungo Gaúcho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tião Neves to maneuver through the defense. When Andrézinho Oliveira fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matungo Gaúcho's protests and gave Andrézinho Oliveira a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SuperChango booed when Matungo Gaúcho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrézinho Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benedito Cardozo was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute, Gualterio Enaut hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matungo Gaúcho's Dário da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celestino Urbez in the 60th minute of play. Eduardo Luix's late challenge caught a Matungo Gaúcho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduardo Luix helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd match minute, SuperChango was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo Luix to maneuver through the defense. SuperChango's Maximiliano Aureo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Tião Neves, made in the 65th minute of the game. Celestino Urbez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Dário da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ubaldo Maju had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the game, Celestino Urbez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Dário da Cunha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 80 minutes into the match, Celestino Urbez notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Matungo Gaúcho's Dário da Cunha. Dário da Cunha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Celestino Urbez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário da Cunha having to interfere. Tião Neves made in the 93rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Benedito Cardozo. After a rather tough play, SuperChango's Maximiliano Aureo got a free kick in the 95th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Matungo Gaúcho players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SuperChango.
