After 7 minutes of play, Portuguesa's Rômulo Fernandes made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Markus Albäck was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pedro Augusto de Barros did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Markus Albäck 11 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sidnei Faria got free with Markus Albäck in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Markus Albäck made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidnei Faria in the 15th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Pedro Augusto de Barros dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Markus Albäck, 3-0. Markus Albäck was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pedro Augusto de Barros showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 29 minute of play. In the 31st minute, Per Västerstrand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Augusto de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Markus Albäck having to interfere. Nye's Markus Albäck proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Nye from getting a goal against them. After 40 played minutes Pedro Augusto de Barros rounded Nye's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 7-0. Maicon Munhoz kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Philip Hedvall stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nye's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pedro Augusto de Barros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raúl Rosado in the 62nd minute of play forced Nye's goalkeeper Markus Albäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Augusto de Barros in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Markus Albäck prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 69 minutes, Sidnei Faria made it 11-0 with a short kick to the right side. Nye's Markus Albäck tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 12-0 when Sidnei Faria sped through Nye's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Markus Albäck. Nye's Markus Albäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rômulo Fernandes in the 75th minute of play. After having played for 77 minutes, Rômulo Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portuguesa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rômulo Fernandes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th minute, Pedro Augusto de Barros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Markus Albäck was frozen by the shot and now it was 13-0. 82 minutes into the match, Pedro Augusto de Barros notched a goal, 14-0, to the right of Nye's Markus Albäck. Markus Albäck was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 86 minutes into the match, Nye's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Augusto de Barros came free, but Markus Albäck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Nye's Philip Hedvall got a free kick in the 87th minute. Markus Albäck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Augusto de Barros in the 88th minute of play. 15-0 became the score in the 90th minute when Sidnei Faria elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Markus Albäck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rômulo Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Sidnei Faria took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Markus Albäck. Markus Albäck dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 16-0. Portuguesa's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
