Ladislao Roldan made in the 3rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Matungo Gaúcho's Miguel de Andrade. 4 minutes in the game Ladislao Roldan did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Jose Beltran. In the 5th match minute, Matungo Gaúcho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrézinho Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute, Arnaldo Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnaldo Fernandes was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 10 minutes into the match. After 10 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Matungo Gaúcho! Teodosio Argenis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Paulo Ferraz came out and tried to block the shot, but Teodosio Argenis slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 15th minute. Miguel de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute, Miguel de Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Matungo Gaúcho's Paulo Ferraz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Matungo Gaúcho from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Matungo Gaúcho's Tião Neves got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 43rd minute, Imрêriо Aztêćâ's Teodosio Argenis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andrézinho Oliveira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Paulo Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodosio Argenis in the 51st minute of play. In the 51st match minute, Matungo Gaúcho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. Betão de Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Ladislao Roldan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Ferraz was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After 71 minutes, Ciriaco Jon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Imрêriо Aztêćâ and the Matungo Gaúcho players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 72nd match minute, Imрêriо Aztêćâ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciriaco Jon to maneuver through the defense. Paulo Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodosio Argenis in the 75th minute of the match. Angelino Tabor's late challenge caught a Matungo Gaúcho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Angelino Tabor helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th minute, Angelino Tabor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 79 minutes of play, Matungo Gaúcho's Guga Schmidt made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guido Sanson was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Matungo Gaúcho defense, Teodosio Argenis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Ferraz. The Matungo Gaúcho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Ferraz should have stopped the shot. Matungo Gaúcho's Paulo Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodosio Argenis in the 94th minute of play. Samuel Frechoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Paulo Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Imрêriо Aztêćâ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Matungo Gaúcho had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
