After a defensive mix-up in Locura Académica's zone, Murilo Paes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Gilesindo came out of the goal and Murilo Paes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute, Celedonio Mundo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Locura Académica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Murilo Paes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Rafael Gilesindo made a huge save. It was a penalty for Locura Académica! Murilo Paes hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. If Sixto Guillelmus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Murilo Paes in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafael Gilesindo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wellington Baiano was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Celedonio Mundo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Celedonio Mundo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Murilo Paes might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Gilesindo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Murilo Paes ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murilo Paes in the 60th minute of play forced Locura Académica's goalkeeper Rafael Gilesindo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maicon Linhares charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maicon Linhares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Locura Académica booed when Ekzema F.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maicon Linhares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rafael Gilesindo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murilo Paes, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Maicon Linhares got his second yellow card in the match during the 68th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Wellington Baiano made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Celedonio Mundo sent off a good shot on target. Celedonio Mundo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute Daniel Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Gilesindo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Locura Académica supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Locura Académica would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
