When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Helmut Berrisch sped through Mayhem Sharks's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcelo Alves. Helmut Berrisch might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcelo Alves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Helmut Berrisch ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of FC Hollywood booed when Mayhem Sharks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, FC Hollywood's Robin Platt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Mayhem Sharks's Marcelo Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Helmut Berrisch in the 31st minute of play. Marcelo Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Schröder in the 34th minute of play. Dito Lopes's late challenge caught a FC Hollywood's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
