The audience thought a goal was coming when Adolfo Lauro got free with Dráusio Oliveira in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diguinho Mendonça in the 66th minute of play forced Cascadia United's goalkeeper Dario Gutierrez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Cristóvão Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Izaltina FAD's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristóvão Paranaense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
