Golden Tigers were furious when Naem Al Khaled was red carded, 20 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 21 minutes into the game, Alvito Arribas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. After some careless play in the Golden Tigers defense, Beila Ladra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mohammad Al Ateqi. The Golden Tigers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mohammad Al Ateqi should have stopped the shot. Tohias Rossello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saif Abo Al Hasan, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The supporters of Golden Tigers booed when Club Deportivo Polonia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Feliberto Climent didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute Beila Ladra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohammad Al Ateqi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Golden Tigers players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Club Deportivo Polonia were winning 0-5.

Casimiro Erosa hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After 55 played minutes Club Deportivo Polonia got a freekick which was hit by Walme Alvarez. After 56 played minutes, Golden Tigers's Edrees Al Najdi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tohias Rossello came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Golden Tigers reached it. In the 59th minute, Club Deportivo Polonia's Casimiro Erosa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mohammad Al Ateqi. Mohammad Al Ateqi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. After 65 played minutes Beila Ladra could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 0-7 into the left cross. In the 68th minute, Khalefa Al Homaithe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alvito Arribas, 69 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 74th minute of the match, Beila Ladra got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mohammad Al Ateqi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 79th match minute, Club Deportivo Polonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliberto Climent to maneuver through the defense. Golden Tigers were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after Club Deportivo Polonia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edrees Al Najdi took the corner. In the 85th match minute, Golden Tigers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basem Al Baghli to maneuver through the defense. 92 minutes into the match, Eduardo Ruiz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mohammad Al Ateqi, 0-8. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Club Deportivo Polonia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
