The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sunkens Surtröjor's Folke Ersman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens-Ola Strömbom in the 5th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Maria Jacobsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Folke Ersman was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 10th minute, Alex Nordström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Folke Ersman was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The audience was convinced that Alex Nordström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Folke Ersman was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. After 16 played minutes, Golden Lions FC's Axel Samuelsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Folke Ersman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Golden Lions FC reached it. Folke Ersman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maria Jacobsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Sunkens Surtröjor's Folke Frisk got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 24th minute, Jens-Ola Strömbom left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Golden Lions FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Golden Lions FC's Jesper Tomasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Folke Frisk in the 27th minute of play. In the 28th minute Sunkens Surtröjor were awarded a corner. Martin Bolin went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Albert Bergqvist got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jesper Tomasson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 32 minutes into the game, Niklas Ekström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sunkens Surtröjor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Golden Lions FC the free kick. In the 32nd minute, Niklas Ekström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Golden Lions FC booed when Sunkens Surtröjor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magnus Ersman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nils-Erik Gustafsson kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Sunkens Surtröjor's Folke Ersman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens-Ola Strömbom in the 41st minute of play. Golden Lions FC's Dennis Jacobsson got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Sunkens Surtröjor's Kennet Tidéksson got a free kick in the 46th minute. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Thanks to some nice moves Alex Nordström could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Folke Ersman however easily saved by the left post. Ludvig Sundin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Magnus Ersman hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, Golden Lions FC's Maria Jacobsson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Folke Ersman. Folke Ersman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. The Sunkens Surtröjor fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Sunkens Surtröjor's Martin Bolin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 87 minutes into the game, Carolus Rex was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Golden Lions FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sunkens Surtröjor the free kick. Sunkens Surtröjor's Ludvig Sundin got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Sunkens Surtröjor's zone, Axel Samuelsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Folke Ersman came out of the goal and Axel Samuelsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Golden Lions FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
