The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when RKO AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Zuazagoitia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Poulus Farias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olaf Jestrimski, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 5th match minute, RKO AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romano Gaona to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the match, RKO AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Olaf Jestrimski came free, but Poulus Farias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romano Gaona hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. When Mateusz Polakowski came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Newcastle United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mateusz Polakowski couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, RKO AFC's Adolfo Zuazagoitia got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 11th minute Olaf Jestrimski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Poulus Farias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olaf Jestrimski in the 13th minute of play forced RKO AFC's goalkeeper Poulus Farias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14thth minute of the game Gustaw Nuszkowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RKO AFC's Poulus Farias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Olaf Jestrimski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Poulus Farias was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Poulus Farias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Gustaw Nuszkowski put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Poulus Farias. 39 minutes into the game, Stanislaw Giertych cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Poulus Farias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mateusz Polakowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Poulus Farias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Newcastle United were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Poulus Farias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaw Nuszkowski in the 51st minute of play. Poulus Farias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stanislaw Giertych, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute Roch Wawak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Poulus Farias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mateusz Polakowski hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the match, RKO AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Barnaba Bentkowski came free, but Poulus Farias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The RKO AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Poulus Farias should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Gustaw Nuszkowski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Poulus Farias was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Mateusz Polakowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Poulus Farias having to interfere. Mateusz Polakowski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Poulus Farias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Olaf Jestrimski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Poulus Farias having to interfere. Newcastle United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
