The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kitt Pegov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victoriano Ferran in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victoriano Ferran in the 4th minute of play forced Austra 04 VFC's goalkeeper Kitt Pegov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teofilo Baladi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 7 played minutes Lyons got a freekick which was hit by Mario Ricart. In the 10th match minute, Lyons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Ricart to maneuver through the defense. Austra 04 VFC's Kitt Pegov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Quirze in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Austra 04 VFC's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Quirze came free, but Kitt Pegov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Lyons's Kitt Pegov threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marco Quirze, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Bebeto Baiano hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Lyons's Mario Ricart got a free kick in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victoriano Ferran in the 24th minute of play forced Austra 04 VFC's goalkeeper Kitt Pegov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Austra 04 VFC's Kit Vire got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Rony Nunes put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jorge Enol. João Zonta hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Mario Ricart's late challenge caught a Austra 04 VFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mario Ricart helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Lyons getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Mario Ricart hit a great ball. Marco Quirze had several of the Austra 04 VFC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 37 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Kitt Pegov as he didn't even see the shot coming. 41 minutes into the match, Marco Quirze had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kitt Pegov. Austra 04 VFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marco Quirze was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Kitt Pegov was a little too slow when Marco Quirze got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marco Quirze was the one to do the kick off. After 51 minutes of play, Lyons's Marco Quirze made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kitt Pegov was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kitt Pegov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Quirze in the 56th minute of play. After 56 played minutes Austra 04 VFC got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Garcia. Kitt Pegov came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Lyons's Teofilo Baladi. But to his dismay, Teofilo Baladi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. In the 63rd minute Marco Quirze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kitt Pegov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kitt Pegov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Quirze, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Marco Quirze spun around in front of the goal 66 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Austra 04 VFC's goal. 68 minutes into the game, Lyons's Marco Quirze nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kitt Pegov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. 74 minutes into the game, Mauro Garcia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Austra 04 VFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lyons the free kick. Saul Montez hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Miguel Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Enol having to interfere. Mario Ricart kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Jorge Enol was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Pedro Luís Paraibano. In the 85th minute, Austra 04 VFC's Miguel Bertassi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jorge Enol. Jorge Enol yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 6-2. After 87 played minutes Austra 04 VFC got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Garcia. Kitt Pegov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Quirze, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Bebeto Baiano kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Lyons were the better team. Lyons's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
