Fabien Frederickx took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jorge Enol. Jorge Enol dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Fabien Frederickx recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Elias Torfs fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Gullegem's protests and gave Elias Torfs a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SK Gullegem getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Elias Torfs hit a great ball. Yelle Van Damme acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 14th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jaime Miliano. After 21 played minutes Lyons got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Guter. After some careless play in the Lyons defense, Fabien Frederickx kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Enol. The Lyons fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Enol should have stopped the shot. After having played for 27 minutes, Will Jamieson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Gullegem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Will Jamieson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yelle Van Damme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedicto Maule in the 30th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabien Frederickx in the 32nd minute of play forced Lyons's goalkeeper Jorge Enol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Raf De Winter came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the SK Gullegem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raf De Winter couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute, Fabien Frederickx got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 41st match minute, Lyons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victoriano Ferran to maneuver through the defense. SK Gullegem's Raf De Winter got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Fabien Frederickx made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Lyons's goal looked a bit too open when Raf De Winter came free, but Jorge Enol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The SK Gullegem fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when SK Gullegem's Fabien Frederickx looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 63 minutes, Edmond Walder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Gullegem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmond Walder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Raf De Winter dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jorge Enol, 0-6. In the 70th minute, Fabien Frederickx left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SK Gullegem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. After some careless play in the Lyons defense, Fabien Frederickx kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Enol. The Lyons fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Enol should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabien Frederickx got free with Jorge Enol in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Lyons booed when SK Gullegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerrit Quintens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lyons's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Raf De Winter 89 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-10. Yelle Van Damme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Quirze, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute, Raf De Winter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorge Enol was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-11.
