Spectators: 7679 (Terracing: 5760, Seating: 1766, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. İsrafil Yağız started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Vlas in the 5th minute of play forced FK Mintis Vilnius's goalkeeper Gvidonas Jakimavičius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gvidonas Jakimavičius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ioan Almăgean, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After a rather tough play, FC ciufulici's Remus Onea got a free kick in the 11th minute. FK Mintis Vilnius's Vydas Plungys quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gigel Gârleanu, made in the 17th minute of the game. After 17 played minutes FK Mintis Vilnius got a freekick which was hit by Eugenijus Gureckas. Gvidonas Jakimavičius stood somewhat misplaced when Edgar Vlas came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 18 minute. When FK Mintis Vilnius's İsrafil Yağız in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC ciufulici's goalie prevented a goal. In the 25th minute, Edgar Vlas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gvidonas Jakimavičius was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. If İsrafil Yağız had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marius Rusu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from İsrafil Yağız in the 31st minute of play. Marius Rusu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of İsrafil Yağız's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC ciufulici's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sigitas Ivoška was slow to take the kick. During this time FK Mintis Vilnius's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on FK Mintis Vilnius's corner Sigitas Ivoška fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marius Rusu quite easily take care of the ball. In the game's 38th minute FK Mintis Vilnius's Sigitas Ivoška took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Marius Rusu and thus the score was 2-1. The supporters of FC ciufulici booed when FK Mintis Vilnius was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giedrius Dulinskas didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandu Pătrășconiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edgar Comarnescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gvidonas Jakimavičius having to interfere. Marius Rusu made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Mustafa Juodis sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, FC ciufulici's Edgar Comarnescu got a free kick in the 60th minute. Edgar Vlas struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Gvidonas Jakimavičius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC ciufulici. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Liudvikas Balsevičius during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 66 played minutes FK Mintis Vilnius got a freekick which was hit by Liudvikas Balsevičius. Gvidonas Jakimavičius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandu Pătrășconiu in the 67th minute of the match. With a little luck, FC ciufulici's Marius Rusu got control of the ball when Sigitas Ivoška tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC ciufulici's zone, Sigitas Ivoška stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marius Rusu came out of the goal and Sigitas Ivoška tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgar Comarnescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Gvidonas Jakimavičius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ioan Almăgean took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gvidonas Jakimavičius. Gvidonas Jakimavičius dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Gvidonas Jakimavičius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandu Pătrășconiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. FK Mintis Vilnius's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
