Spectators: 7537 (Terracing: 5654, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Marcos Lopez kicked off to start the match. When Enzo Frantzes fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia FC's protests and gave Enzo Frantzes a yellow card for diving instead. After 2 played minutes Academia FC got a freekick which was hit by Enzo Frantzes. Academia FC's Ignacio Orland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Lopez in the 3rd minute of play. Ignacio Orland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Lopez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fausto Argider kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 16th match minute, Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felippe Ramos to maneuver through the defense. Ignacio Orland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gildo Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Froilan Felipo struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Rene Austin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academia FC. Fausto Argider received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Rene Austin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ignacio Orland made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jesus Romero in the 24th minute. Rene Austin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Froilan Felipo in the 28th minute of play. If Fausto Argider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ignacio Orland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Lopez in the 31st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Academia FC's Mario Fraco got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Enzo Frantzes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rene Austin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. 40 minutes into the game, Marcos Lopez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ignacio Orland. Marcos Lopez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 45th minute, Gildo Cordeiro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ignacio Orland. The goal made the score 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

A collision led to Academia FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Mario Fraco hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felippe Ramos in the 55th minute of play forced Academia FC's goalkeeper Ignacio Orland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ignacio Orland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jesus Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 66 minutes into the match, Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Froilan Felipo came free, but Rene Austin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st match minute, Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Miranda to maneuver through the defense. Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ made a substitution. Célio Queirós replaced Jesus Romero. The supporters of Academia FC booed when Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Froilan Felipo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rene Austin came out and tried to block the shot, but Froilan Felipo slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 73rd minute. Ignacio Orland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gildo Cordeiro in the 76th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fausto Argider got free with Rene Austin in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. During the 82nd minute of the match Marcos Lopez completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marcos Lopez a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Ignacio Orland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célio Queirós in the 87th minute of play. Academia FC's Ignacio Orland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Célio Queirós in the 89th minute of play. 95 minutes into the game, Felippe Ramos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Academia FC the free kick. Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
