Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5626, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 149) S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Afonso Nascimento started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Afonso Nascimento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juan Carlos Suciu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 2nd minute of play. S.C. Corinthians Paulista were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Salud y República's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dudu de Barros took the corner. Cássio Aparecido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roben Reyes in the 6th minute of play. The supporters of S.C. Corinthians Paulista booed when Salud y República was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nisio Riba didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute Dedê Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Carlos Suciu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júlio Jacinto made in the 19th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Cássio Simões however managed to control. Nisio Riba kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. A throw-in in the 27th minute of the game was made by Júlio Jacinto with Cássio Simões as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Júlio Jacinto made in the 31st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Cássio Simões immediately put the ball in play. Dudu de Barros hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Cássio Aparecido didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abdika Philip went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 41st minute, Abdika Philip ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cássio Aparecido was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 47th minute, Abdika Borbon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dudu de Barros took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 49th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Juan Carlos Suciu. Salud y República's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The S.C. Corinthians Paulista players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Salud y República were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abdika Philip made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonso Nascimento in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan Carlos Suciu saved Salud y República from getting behind. After 60 played minutes Salud y República got a freekick which was hit by Fructuoso Echavarri. In the 70th minute of the game Júlio Jacinto made a throw-in which Cássio Simões played forward. Cássio Aparecido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdika Philip in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 77th match minute, Salud y República was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abdika Philip to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Guga Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's supporters rose to their feet, but Guga Goiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juan Carlos Suciu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Abdika Philip scored to the left of an out of position Cássio Aparecido, making the score, 0-3. Cássio Aparecido came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Salud y República's Abdika Philip. But to his dismay, Abdika Philip quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4.
