After a defensive mix-up in Xiboquinha FC's zone, Adolfo Silbestre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Linares came out of the goal and Adolfo Silbestre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ceferino Miro kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Denis Senon made in the 43rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Gilberto Nofre immediately put the ball in play. In the 44th minute Ceferino Miro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 47 minutes, Ceferino Miro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.Esparta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ceferino Miro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The C.A.Esparta fans cheered their team off the field, for while Xiboquinha FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
