Manuel Candeias's late challenge caught a C.A.Esparta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Candeias helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FCPorto getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Manuel Candeias hit a great ball. When Gilberto Nofre came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the C.A.Esparta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Nofre couldn't finish the play. Manuel Candeias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silverio Cordara having to make a save. Teodoro Cavaco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silverio Cordara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Cavaco in the 22nd minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, C.A.Esparta's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Candeias came free, but Silverio Cordara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Ceferino Miro took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Dewa Cinta to make any attempt to save it. 40 minutes into the game, Leonardo Belém was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FCPorto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A.Esparta the free kick. After 40 played minutes FCPorto got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Belém. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FCPorto! The goalkeeper, Dewa Cinta, was totally fooled by C.A.Esparta's Armando Manuelo, who 41 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ceferino Miro in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dewa Cinta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ceferino Miro was the one to do the kick off. Adolfo Silbestre might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dewa Cinta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adolfo Silbestre ran back to his position shaking his head. 55 minutes into the match, Adolfo Silbestre notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of FCPorto's Dewa Cinta. Dewa Cinta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Ceferino Miro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dewa Cinta was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in FCPorto's zone, Ceferino Miro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dewa Cinta came out of the goal and Ceferino Miro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute Ceferino Miro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dewa Cinta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, FCPorto's Daniel Caldas got a free kick in the 64th minute. Dewa Cinta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ceferino Miro in the 64th minute of play. Ceferino Miro scored 5-0 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dewa Cinta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 69th match minute, FCPorto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heitor Garcia to maneuver through the defense. Dewa Cinta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolfo Silbestre in the 70th minute of play. If Gilberto Nofre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adolfo Silbestre in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dewa Cinta saved FCPorto from getting behind. 89 minutes into the match, FCPorto's goal looked a bit too open when Ceferino Miro came free, but Dewa Cinta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Aimar in the 92nd minute of play forced FCPorto's goalkeeper Dewa Cinta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 95 minutes, Ceferino Miro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.Esparta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ceferino Miro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the C.A.Esparta players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
