The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Silverio Cordara made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Vincent Åkerberg sent off a good shot on target. Silverio Cordara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgar Sandwall's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. C.A.Esparta were furious when Fabricio Videl was red carded, 4 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 4 minutes into the game, one of C.A.Esparta:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 10 minutes into the match, C.A.Esparta's goalkeeper Silverio Cordara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgar Sandwall. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vincent Åkerberg got free with Silverio Cordara in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Caroll Mårtensson came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by C.A.Esparta's Marcelo Bieito. But to his dismay, Marcelo Bieito quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelo Bieito in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Caroll Mårtensson saved Buksvinens IF from getting behind. In the 23rd minute, Vincent Åkerberg made a precise shot to the right of Silverio Cordara. C.A.Esparta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 26th minute Marcelo Bieito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caroll Mårtensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ami Ambjörnsson fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Nofre couldn't finish the play. The supporters of C.A.Esparta booed when Buksvinens IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt-Arne Fransson didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Marcelo Bieito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute Gilberto Nofre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caroll Mårtensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 49 minutes had been played when some careless play by Buksvinens IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Armando Manuelo was slow to take the kick. During this time C.A.Esparta's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Armando Manuelo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Caroll Mårtensson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
After 53 minutes, Artemio Malvin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.A.Esparta and the Buksvinens IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th minute, Vincent Åkerberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcelo Bieito's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Caroll Mårtensson firmly grabbed it by the left post. C.A.Esparta's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Armando Manuelo in the 59th minute. With a little luck, Buksvinens IF's Caroll Mårtensson got control of the ball when Marcelo Bieito tried to sneak it across the goal line. Caroll Mårtensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Nofre in the 66th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelo Bieito got free with Caroll Mårtensson in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gilberto Nofre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Caroll Mårtensson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 82 played minutes Buksvinens IF got a freekick which was hit by Vincent Åkerberg. After 84 minutes, Marcelo Bieito made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Buksvinens IF's Caroll Mårtensson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 90 minutes, Marcelo Bieito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.Esparta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelo Bieito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcelo Bieito took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Caroll Mårtensson. Caroll Mårtensson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. In the 98th minute Gilberto Nofre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caroll Mårtensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
