Carlos Alberto de Amaral took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hasan Bræmdal. Hasan Bræmdal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. A collision led to Paranhos Ariranha FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Fernando Paulista hit a great ball. Paranhos Ariranha FC's Lúcio Mota proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Paranhos Ariranha FC from getting a goal against them. In the 15th match minute, FC Hyklerne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zbyszko Falkiewicz to maneuver through the defense. Fausto Fernandez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hasan Bræmdal. FC Hyklerne's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to FC Hyklerne getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. After 17 played minutes, Paranhos Ariranha FC's Fausto Fernandez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hasan Bræmdal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Paranhos Ariranha FC reached it. Lúcio Mota didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thorkild Vilfeldt went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 25th match minute, FC Hyklerne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Lyngsov to maneuver through the defense. After 28 played minutes Paranhos Ariranha FC got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Mota. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thorkild Vilfeldt got free with Lúcio Mota in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Paranhos Ariranha FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Magno Jacinto hit a great ball. Fausto Fernandez hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Hasan Bræmdal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto de Amaral in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guy Pearce in the 39th minute of play forced Paranhos Ariranha FC's goalkeeper Lúcio Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Magno Jacinto hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Thorkild Vilfeldt reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lúcio Mota. The goal made the score 2-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Alberto de Amaral was the one to do the kick off. After 56 played minutes Paranhos Ariranha FC got a freekick which was hit by Hamílton Barros. If Carlinhos Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 4-3 when Carlos Alberto de Amaral sped through FC Hyklerne's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hasan Bræmdal. Carlinhos Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hasan Bræmdal having to interfere. Paranhos Ariranha FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
