Atletico Aragua FC's players were relieved. Froylan Chagavia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt-Åke Thidén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After recieving a nice pass, Linköpings AIK's Johannes Torstensson tried to score from far away in the 21st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Cordarin Alberete's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Staffan Lind read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Staffan Lind showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cordarin Alberete in the 23rd minute of the match. Froylan Chagavia made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Johannes Torstensson sent off a good shot on target. Atletico Aragua FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Bengt-Åke Thidén 30 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Greger Jonasson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Johannes Torstensson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Froylan Chagavia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Johannes Torstensson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute, Froylan Chagavia skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Froylan Chagavia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt-Åke Thidén in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th minute Cordarin Alberete shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Staffan Lind saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bengt-Åke Thidén made a kick off. When Carl Karlsson fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Linköpings AIK's protests and gave Carl Karlsson a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bengt-Åke Thidén in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Froylan Chagavia saved Atletico Aragua FC from getting behind. In the 63rd minute Johannes Torstensson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froylan Chagavia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Cordarin Alberete was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atletico Aragua FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Linköpings AIK the free kick. After a rather tough play, Atletico Aragua FC's Cordarin Alberete got a free kick in the 64th minute. After 65 played minutes Linköpings AIK got a freekick which was hit by Greger Jonasson. A collision led to Linköpings AIK getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Olof Brolin hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Atletico Aragua FC's Otsoko Queipo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Oscar Walmarsson kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Froylan Chagavia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt-Åke Thidén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Johannes Torstensson scored 3-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Froylan Chagavia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otsoko Queipo in the 80th minute of play forced Linköpings AIK's goalkeeper Staffan Lind to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Linköpings AIK's Inge Godholm got a free kick in the 86th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Linköpings AIK's goalkeeper Staffan Lind had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chabier Belon. Inge Godholm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bengt-Åke Thidén recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Johannes Torstensson might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Froylan Chagavia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Johannes Torstensson ran back to his position shaking his head. Bengt-Åke Thidén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Linköpings AIK fully deserved thier win.
