But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Van Damme couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the game, El Retorno de Palermo's Gerardo Oalo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ludwig de Pelsmaecker made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς's goal looked a bit too open when Danilo Milian came free, but Ludwig de Pelsmaecker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Danilo Milian had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ludwig de Pelsmaecker. ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Danilo Milian was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Ludwig de Pelsmaecker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danilo Milian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrik De Wortelaers hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the match, ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς's goal looked a bit too open when David Paublo came free, but Ludwig de Pelsmaecker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Paublo took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ludwig de Pelsmaecker. Ludwig de Pelsmaecker dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. In the 37th minute, David Paublo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ludwig de Pelsmaecker was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. El Retorno de Palermo's Anibal Egoitz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save El Retorno de Palermo from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wim Van Nel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julian Afonso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Ludwig de Pelsmaecker made a huge save. The supporters of ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς booed when El Retorno de Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Astor Huly didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anibal Egoitz came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς's Andris De Baere. But to his dismay, Andris De Baere quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-6. Gerardo Oalo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-7 in the 67th playminute. With a little luck, ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς's Ludwig de Pelsmaecker got control of the ball when David Paublo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ludwig de Pelsmaecker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerardo Oalo in the 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Paublo in the 75th minute of play forced ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς's goalkeeper Ludwig de Pelsmaecker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ludwig de Pelsmaecker was a little too slow when Cristian Napier got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 3-8. Anibal Egoitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurent Cuppens in the 86th minute of play. Ludwig de Pelsmaecker made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Gerardo Oalo sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, ภคгς๏tเς ฬ๏๏๔קєςкєгร Ŧς's Alek De Cerpel got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 94th minute, Eleuterio Savier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anibal Egoitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andris De Baere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Astor Huly charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Astor Huly the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Astor Huly kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. El Retorno de Palermo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
