The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Almir Severo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vassilis Banasidis in the 3rd minute of the match. Panos Nikologiannis kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 8th minute Jorge Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Makis Tselementes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernie Strauss kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the game, Vassilis Banasidis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Almir Severo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Almir Severo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogenis Priovolos in the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th match minute, Grêmio Santo André was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adalberto de Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Panagiotis Stravocheris kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Jorge Paraense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Makis Tselementes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Achilleas Vasilatos might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Almir Severo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Achilleas Vasilatos ran back to his position shaking his head. 28 minutes into the match, Mai Yong Zhi notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of ΠΑΟΚ FC's Makis Tselementes. Makis Tselementes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 32nd minute, Diogenis Priovolos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Almir Severo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 40 minutes into the game, Alexis Stratigakis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ΠΑΟΚ FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio Santo André the free kick. Grêmio Santo André's Jorge Paraense shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 41st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Makis Tselementes but with some difficulty. Vassilis Banasidis hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

In the 52nd minute Jorge Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Makis Tselementes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute, Jorge Paraense ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Makis Tselementes was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. A collision led to Grêmio Santo André getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Jorge Paraense hit a great ball. Jorge Paraense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Makis Tselementes came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio Santo André's Jorge Paraense. But to his dismay, Jorge Paraense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mai Yong Zhi in the 75th minute of play forced ΠΑΟΚ FC's goalkeeper Makis Tselementes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute Panos Nikologiannis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almir Severo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, ΠΑΟΚ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Paraense came free, but Makis Tselementes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Paraense in the 90th minute of play forced ΠΑΟΚ FC's goalkeeper Makis Tselementes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Almir Severo managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when ΠΑΟΚ FC's Diogenis Priovolos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Grêmio Santo André's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
