After 21 minutes SvE United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Achilleas Vasilatos who took care of the corner kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Velcho Itev in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Makis Tselementes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Makis Tselementes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yanek Marekov in the 42nd minute of play. Christos Banasas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Vanko Spasunov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Diogenis Priovolos came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the ΠΑΟΚ FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diogenis Priovolos couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marko Kirilov made a kick off. SvE United:s Vanko Spasunov showed great skill when he stopped Achilleas Vasilatos:s penalty. If Vassilis Banasidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute.
